It does the job, doesn’t kill the clever ones but when I checked the little tray it had a considerable amount of flys inside. Creates a nice blue glow in the kitchen too

Hi, will this unit attract wood beasties/wood worm as they fly around my loft looking for somewhere to lay there eggs ? thanks W Watson.

Unfortunately the UV only attracts flies, we would recommend one of our cluster fly machine and aerosol kits to regularly spray the area

As long as the electric fly killer is in a secure position, it can be left on continually and unattended. However, we would recommend that the collection tray is regularly emptied for optimum performance.

Hi I have a conservatory with a glass roof and get plagued by flies, wasps etc flying around the roof area then dying all over the floor and furniture and the next day we have a whole load more! Woudld this item prevent this? If so hw would this attract them from the rooof area if I mount this on the wall? Thanks

The fly killer would need to be situated in a shaded area of the conservatory to be effective. If the conservatory contains too much natural light the fly killers will not be effective.

Would this work for very small insects like fruit flies?

If any flies go into the unit it would kill them however this unit is not designed to attract fruit flies. Scented glue boards are the normal method of killing fruit flies.

How Long is the cable, and why the difference in wattage 16, 30 & 40 Many thanks

The cable is approximately 1m long and the difference in wattage is the area the units will cover when in use. The 16 watt fly killer will cover up to 50m2, the 30 watt will cover up to 100m2 and the 40 watts will cover up to 120m2.

Is this device effective with midges and cornflies?

The killing grid is too wide to be effective on midges and corn flies.

How do you change the light bulbs?

Before attempting to change the UV bulbs, ensure the unit is switched off and unplugged from the power supply, and the unit is left to stand for 40 minutes.

Remove the catchment tray and carefully lay the unit face down on a flat surface so the power cable shows from the rear.

Remove the two screws and mesh securing washers from the top rear of the mesh.

Remove the bottom two screws from the black plastic side furthest away from the power cable. Important only remove the bottom screws and leave the top two in position.

Remove the rear mesh which will expose the two bulbs.

Carefully twist the bulbs one at a time so that the prongs on each face upwards and remove them.

Carefully insert the new bulbs and twist them into position.

Carefully place the rear mesh back into position ensuring the top section of the mesh is pushed under the top section of the unit.

Insert the two screws and mesh securing washers into place.

Insert the two screws into position on the bottom section of the black plastic side.

Insert the catchment tray and the unit is ready to use.

Can this be mounted directly on a wall ?

This unit can be wall mounted.
