Industrial Fans
Almost every industry makes use of fans, whether they’re simple cooling fans for a warehouse, hydroponics fans for greenhouses, or exhaust fans for chemical plants. Here at HSD we carry a wide range of industrial fans that are reliable, effective, and affordable.
Extractor Fans
Extractor fans are used in a lot of working environments. They help keep the air clean and well ventilated by removing moisture, dust and fumes by drawing the air out and expelling it outside. When working out which extractor fan is best for you there are quite a few factors that you need to be considered, this includes what size fan you need, how much air you need to move and what kind of room your fan will be used in.
To see how much air you need to move, you first need to know how large the area is in cubic meters (height x length x width) you can then refer to this table to see how many air changes you need per hour. Once you have this information you then need to multiply the volume of your room by the required number of air changes per hour this will give you a final figure of how much air you need for your fan to be able to move.
Once you have this information you can then begin to work out what size you need, generally, the larger the fan the moving air it will move and circulate, however too big and you run the risk of a very hot room in summer and very cold in the winter so please take time to carefully consider the correct choice.
Centrifugal Fans
These fans are used mostly to keep air flowing through ventilation systems like air ducts but they are also often found used in heating and cooling units, for example, hairdryers, air conditioning units and furnaces. They are also a great solution for dust control in workshops and warehouses.
Centrifugal fans work by moving air rapidly, pulling the air in before then releasing it at a 90-degree angle through ducts and air vents. While this does cause a lower flow rate by moving the air through vents and air ducts it creates a more stable airflow than some other fans.
Hydroponics Fans
These fans are used in large or poorly ventilated hydroponic gardens. They are designed to aid ventilation ensuring that the optimum temperature and humidity is achieved.
When choosing the right fan for you, you must first take into account the room size, the kind of plants that are being grown, and what type of lighting is used. Usually, it is best to use two units for Hydroponic gardens. One to take out the air and one to supply fresh air into the garden from the outside.
