This will not work with your central heating radiators. It comes with a 3-pin plug and is programmed using the 24/7 timer.

No, this comes with a power lead approximately 1.3 meters.
I want to use the heater with an occupancy sensor. When someone is in the room the sensor turns the heater on. Will it come on or will it wait for the timer to be set?
Unfortunately, we not have any heaters that would be compatible with an occupancy sensor.
Can this just be switchedon and off as needed and is there a thermostat which switches off when temp reached?
This can be turned on & off and used manually if required. Once the chosen temperature is reached it will cut off and if the temperature drops it should then heat up again.

Can I put the heater directly above the socket in my small kitchen
No, this heater cannot be installed directly above a socket.
Is the 500 watt panel heater suitable for mounting high up on a bathroom wall? There is very little floor space and the lower walls will be tongue and groove. I need it as supplementary heating.

These comply with the Lot 20 regulations. It is your domestic appliances that require an efficiency rating at present.

Open window function: • Press button for the open window and the indicator light will illuminate to show the open window function is activated. If the unit detects an open window or sudden drop in temperature the open window function is activated, the indicator light keeps flashing and stops heating to save energy. • Press the button for open window again to cancel open window function and revert back to previous operational settings.

I want to shorten the lead. Can I disconnect where the lead leaves the heater, cut the flex to the required length and reconnect.
No, the lead is sealed into the heater but could be spurred using a qualified electrician.

We are unable to offer an exact time scale it would be dependant on your temperature in the room on the day and if you have insulation. It would take around 10 to 15 minutes.

Is this radiator safe around children please? Does it get hot and are there any grills on it that a child could easily poke something through?
We would always recommend that small children be supervised near heating appliances. The grills are on the top of the heater no items should be inserted into the air vents. Some parts of the heater can become hot so supervision is required.

What is the downside of using 1KW heater instead of a 0.5 KW when 0.5 KW is recommended by you based on area size? Will it cost more to run or the thermostat will control the cost by making both even?
The 500w heater will heat a room size up to 5 to 7m2. The 1kw covers a room size of 10 to 15m2. The higher the wattage the cost to run will increase. Please check with your energy provider how much they charge you per kilowatt-hour.
Can I cover the heater with an MDF radiator cover, in the same way that I would cover a traditional gas central heating radiator?
It would depend how big the cover is. The heater does require minimum clearances of 30cm above, infront, below and either side.

It would be suitable yes. You do need to adhere to the miminmum clearances if so there will not be not be a fire risk.
