When the thermostat detects the water temperature drops below a certain point, it’ll power on the unit and heat it back up to the target level. This takes much less energy than repeatedly boiling a kettle from cold. Thanks to its energy-saving insulated design, this tea urn retains heat superbly, so it stays warm longer from a single boil and doesn’t need to re-heat as often. Unparalleled Control Over Urn Temperature

As it’s a digital thermostat, this urn gives you much finer control over its temperature. You can adjust it in 5 degree increments down to 60°C. This means you can use it to simmer liquid at a lower temperature if needed, so it’s suitable for making mulled wine.
