We all love the summer... The long days, the bright sunshine and everyone outside having picnics and walking their dogs... So why do we spend all summer holed up in our room, windows locked shut and hiding under our blanket? A wasps nest! Wasps everywhere! Wasp nests are hugely common in attics, garages and sheds. They certainly give us a fright when we go and grab the lawn mower one summer morning and hear the familiar buzz from the hidden depths of the garage! Here at HSDonline, we have got so many customers calling us petrified and asking how to get rid of a wasps nest. The fantastic truth is, it is easy and completely safe. There is no need for expensive professionals, or any maverick, gung ho approach.
Wasps nest in the attic?
In order to guide you when getting rid of a wasps nest, here are 2 situations:
- If you have access to the nest
- If you don't have access to the nest
Situation no. 1 → Access to the nest:
» Wasp Nest Foam
The wasp nest foam is a government approved and tested product manufactured by worldwide specialists of Pest Control Products. Simply spray the foam around the entrance to the nest, the wasps will spread the foam around the nest, and destroy themselves from within. Reapply a week later to complete the eradication.
Situation no. 2 → No access to the nest:
» Wasp Nest Fumigator
Simply place the Wasp West Fumigator into the room where the nest is, and light the fumer. Insecticide in the form of smoke will be released into the room, providing rapid knock down into the cracks and crevices of the nest and eliminating any wasps in the area. Reapply 7 days later to ensure the full nest is eradicated. In order to make you life easier, we summarised these two products within a wasp killer value kit.
Prevention of wasp stings:
Here is some advice that can be effective in reducing the risk of future wasp stings:
- Most of the time, wasps only sting in self-defense.
- We advise you to treat a wasps nest by wearing light coloured clothing, covering much of the body (particularly your feet).
- Wasps are attracted by scents.
- If you're gardening, wear long sleeves, long trousers (and also gloves)
- Often, wasp stings occur on bare feet so if you tend to be allergic to bites or stings, you should always wear shoes if you're outside.
