They may be related to the sweet and harmless butterfly, but you should think of moths as being their mean older brothers. Yes, while they certainly won’t cause you any physical harm, they will cause your wallet problems due to their annoying eating habits and ability to gnaw on pretty much any material in your home. Your clothes, rug, carpet, and other important valuables will certainly experience the pain if moth infestations are allowed to grow. The larvae will eat holes into fabrics without a care in the world, leaving the owner feeling helpless and unsure of how exactly the problem can be solved. Well, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve compiled a list of the five most effective measures you can take to finally rid your household of this expensive irritant. From being more thorough with your food storage, to smoking them out with one of the strongest insecticides around – there’s plenty you can do to have a moth-free environment once more!

1. Don’t Egg Them On

Because moths like to latch onto clothes, curtains, carpets, and a whole host of other materials, it should come as no surprise that the chances of them laying eggs are quite high. So, if you have been unfortunate enough to witness a moth infestation, you’ll know about the importance of washing your clothes and cleaning your cupboards in case eggs have been laid there. If your clothes aren’t cleaned properly, not only is there a good chance that the eggs are still there in one form or another, but it also serves as a huge beacon for other moths who may want to nibble on your dirty rags. 2. Entrapment
